Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) was established in 1975 between four Arab countries (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates and Qatar) for the development of advanced technology – based industries in the Arab World.

In 1979 Egypt took full control over AOI.

AOI wholly owns twelve factories, including:

  • Aircraft Factory.

  • Engine Factory.

  • Sakr Factory for Developed Industries.

  • Railway Equipment Factory (SEMAF).

  • Electronics Factory.

  • Helwan Factory for Developed Industries.

  • Arab British Dynamics (ABD).

  • Arab Timber Industries Company (ATICO).

  • Arab Renewable Energy Company (ARECO).

  • African Company for medical industries.

In addition to the larger share in one joint venture namely the Arab American Vehicles Company (AAV), with Fiat-Chrysler.

Fields of Activity: (AOI) operations include both military and civil activities, fulfilling the requirements of the Armed Forces of Egypt, Arab States, and friendly countries.

It also supports societal development plans, with emphasis on infrastructure, ecological protection, and railway projects.

Capabilities of AOI: AOI has more than 15,000 skilled workers trained at AOI centers as well as many specialized institutes inside Egypt and abroad.

AOI applies the latest industrial technologies and advanced laboratory equipment in support of engineering industries in addition to calibration laboratories, specialized research centers and integrated quality systems.
